Well this is what your future may be like! One of the most important sets of frescoes in the world...
Beautiful cathedral and the San Brizio chapel is more than worth a visit. Do a little reading before you visit so you will know the background of the frescoes.
If you're in to Michelangelo and Renaissance art these paintings are worth seeing. Fra Angelico began them and 50 years later, Luca Signorelli created his masterwork by finishing them. Basically the paintings are a combination of the Apocalypse and Last Judgment, but there's so much more, both in style and meaning. There's no question of the influence on Michelangelo and Raphael in style, complex meaning, composition, and technique. You can find Signorelli's figures copied into their work. Paintings were restored in the 1990s. Ticket includes museums. Which are also worthwhile.
made in 1406-1444 with frescoes painted by dominican friar giovanni da fiesole(beato Angelico): Christ in judgement and prophets and last judgement . late baroque altar designed by bernardino cametti (1712-1715) included panel of Msdonna di San Brizio. Really beautiful
The frescoes are quite stunning and have been restored very sympathetically. Best viewed off peak time as the Chapel is not big and crowds can be off-putting.
