We recently attended a beautiful wedding here. New England hospitality paired with beautiful surrounding makes for a perfect place for a wedding. So glad we had an opportunity to enjoy this place.
Linden Place is one of the most beautiful homes of a by-gone era.ALL, but one, of the furnishings were possessions of the De Wolffamily. The house has a rich and interesting history, but I'll leave that to the docents. It is not of the scale of the Newport mansions, but it is grand unto itself. Weddings and parties are held in the carriage house and the grounds are gorgeous for picture-taking. If you go to Bristol, visit Linden Place.
A perfect location for a wedding with extremely helpful/knowledgeable staff. Exquisite garden for a June wedding surrounded by flowers and historic artifacts and a reception in the carriage house. A spectacular event. The historic mansion was open for viewing after the wedding which was a special treat for those who haven't seen Linden Place. A beautiful, historic home that's worth visiting, even if you're not attending a wedding! Spectacular!!!
We were here for the wedding of a close friend. Linden Place was outstanding! Everything was beautiful! the mansion, the grounds, the carriage house (where the wedding took place). The staff was extremely helpful and polite. Any wedding guests could tour the house and grounds before the wedding and during the cocktail hour. If you are looking for someplace a bit different to get married, Linden Place should definitely be on your list!
we were invited to a wedding at this house. It was great. We love visiting historic houses and this one a perfect setting fot the afternoon wedding we attended.
This historic mansion is in the heart of Bristol. Much attention has been given to the upkeep of the buildings and grounds. Perfect place to hold an event in the 'Ballroom' and gardens. Tours are available where you can learn about LP's interesting history! Public events are also held periodically throughout the year. Check out their website at www.lindenplace.org Jim Connell, executive director, and Sue Battle, his assistant, are wonderful to work with!
As you walk through the various rooms and halls you not only learn the history of Bristol, RI, you are transported back to the turn of the century. You can imagine a soiree on the grounds with beautifully gowned ladies escorted by their beaus. We were able to see a wedding reception as we meandered home from a beautiful evening on the water.
I liked that we were able to tour the house on our own with a printed guide. Lovely gardens and weddings can be booked here.
Just love standing at the bottom of the several story circular stairway and looking up. Beautiful at Christmas Time. I love the variety of objects for sale in the gift shop. Lots of special event, I hope to get there for the Irish music next March.
While in Bristol stop by Linden Place to walk the grounds and take a tour. This mansion has had several past presidents stay here. There is some lovely china and glass items to look at. If you are getting married, look into having it here at Linden Place.
