This is basically a daytrip type of place, ie. it's not someplace you pick as your primary vacation destination. You go in, kill an hour or so, get some munchies and look around, maybe bring home a souvenir or two. That being said, I love it. Great cider donuts, old timey candies, some very, very good BBQ and grilling sauces, seasonings and such, lots of apple products (cider, butter, etc) that are all good, and... THE BEST MICROBREWED ROOT BEER YOU WILL EVER DRINK! Lost Trails sodas....the root beer is something to be savored. The Strawberry Cream soda is something you should try as well. The building in the back actually shows you the apple cider making process, but only on certain days. Check their website to find out when. They also have an Autumn festival two weeks in October(?) I think. That's when it's most crowded, though. I prefer just dropping by whenever.Seriously though, don't miss the root beer.
For a short get away this is a nice place to go. Different kinds of cider, cider donuts, and a country shop for jelly's, spices, and snacks. They do make their own cider and root beer that you can watch being made.
This is a nice place to stop for hot or cold cider and homemade cider donuts. The cider is made right at this facility and fogey have a nice gift shop of jellies, baking mixes and gifts.
What more could you want. An old time store with great food items, and mixes, and wonderful everything. If you can see them press the apples it is pretty cool! You can watch them make the donuts and we NEVER leave without donuts and a gallon of cider!!
Love the cider mill! Great products, home town feel and local ownership make this a great family outing
This is a very nice place to visit. It was not apple processing season, but it was still good. The people were very friendly. They had a fun shop.
Louisburg Cider Mill makes their own cider, root beer and other drinks as well as cider donuts. Fall weekends get crowded because they add a corn maze, pumpkin patch, wagon ride, blue grass band, etc. We didn't do the maze when we were there a couple of weeks ago as we thought one of the granddaughters was too young to enjoy it and the admission ($8 per person) was a little steep if we weren't going to partake in the full experience. We were able to see the cider mill in operation as well as the bottling of the cider and the cider donuts being made. We stood in line for about 20 minutes to get donuts and cider. We actually enjoy the Cider Mill when there is less of a crowd so that we can shop in their store. The store has a country-store vibe and has a selection of jams, jellies, mixes, cooking utensils and other interesting merchandise. During the summer, before apple season, they have various fresh produce such as peaches, blackberries and tomatoes.
Stopped in for a quick bag of warm cider donuts and cider slushes today and it didn't disappoint. The cake donuts are very good and reasonable in price. We always get a slush to go with it on our drive home. There wasn't much going on this time of year but they still have donuts every day so if you're in town and just passing by be sure to stop for a dozen...or 2!
This is a great escape to the country & not too far from Johnson County. In the summer visit the farm store to purchase fresh, local veggies, apple cider, cider donuts, jams, spices & jerky. In the fall go for the apples & pumpkins. Hayrides, hay mazes & all the goodies!
Cider donuts are requested by my coworkers. They are delicious! Store open all year. Cider is the best youve ever tasted! Fall is a magical time there with craft booths, corn maze, playground, pumpkins and it's always fun to watch the cider and donuts being made. Very busy time and sometimes crowded. Allow enough time.
