The staff at this place is the worst of any convention center i have ever used. Period. Rude unprofessional ran behind on set ups kicked People out when the staff got the set up late, with we're closing you have to leave. Piss poor customer service this has not been a pleasant experience.
The convention center was a great venue for the volleyball tournament. It accommodated all the teams, had nice eating area. It was close to our hotel, the park and many wonderful restaurants.
We attended the National Trampoline and Tumbling Competition in June 2014. It is a beautiful convention center and well laid out to find your way around. Great glass walls and artwork in the main entrance area. Large variety concession stand near the competition room. Staff was very attentive. Only the price to attend the events was expensive, but I don't think they set it.
I have been to many convention centers in my life. I have been here twice and found it quite average. The parking is there, but depending on where the event is, you can do some serious walking. If you have trouble getting around, you should definitely consider how big they place is and plan accordingly. I would go back again and did not find anything about the place offensive.
Well it's pretty much like most average boring concrete walled structures you can think of that are sited in pretty much any and all average striving type cities... The only good thing is that across the river from the Convention Center is Riverfront Park and if you are on a bike on the Centennial Trail you can whisk right by the echoing concrete corridors and get to somewhere more hospitable. And, did you know, in an effort to boost attendance #s at "public facilities" (?) they now charge to sit outside on the concrete steps to watch the fireworks displays... we weep for the good old days...
The convention center is a great asset to Spokane. It brings in many different types of groups and helps the downtown business's . I have been there for many activities. It is large enough to have home shows and pre blooms day events.
Never have I seen a convention center with more staff around. It gives a positive message that you can get help if you need it and the facilities are very nice.
Staff was well versed in handling large crowds and tons of kids running around. No issues and just as good as our 2013 attendance.
Whether you favor a Broadway play, a dance troupe or musical group there's usually something that will appeal to any age or group. The building is architecturally lovely and well designed. The sound is great even in the uppermost seats due to the design. Opera glasses can be a nice thing to have with you. The appeal will depend on what your interests are but the venue is a wonderful place to spend time being entertained. The only drawback is limited parking lots which fill quickly. Unless you arrive early, you need to plan to walk a distance or take a taxi.
The staff at the Spokane Convention Center were extremely professional and courteous. Every effort was made to help make our conference run smoothly. Staff helped man the doors to make sure that only conference members were allowed in. The food kiosk adjusted their hours to stay open late to accommodate us after our sessions. It was a beautiful and comfortable venue with the river and park just steps outside. Further, restaurants were in walking distance and the area was safe and well patrolled.
