Southern charm at its finest. Amazing care of people and links.
Old Waverly is one of the most beautiful places you will find for a wedding. The grounds are kept to perfection and the clubhouse is like stepping back in time, filled with beautiful antiques. The guesthouses and condos are like staying in someone's lovely private home, which of course you are. Along with the beauty of Old Waverly, is the Wonderful Staff that is so gracious and willing do go the extra mile to make your stay a memorable time for you. I can't say enough about how much i love this place and what a wonderful outdoor wedding my daughter had and such a lovely reception in the clubhouse. We spent the weekend with family and friends here and everyone had a grand time. Also as a plus is the golf course for any golf lover.
We visited the grounds and saw the beauty of the Old Waverly Mansion. The club house was very nice and top notch. I would recommend you visit.
The greens roll true..the staff is courteous..can't wait to go back. Holes 5 and 6 are challenging, and 18 will make you want to go for the green!! Eat lunch there if you get the chance..
This is a beautiful antebellum home situated on a beautiful golf coarse. Lovely place to visit. Very close to Columbus Ms and West Point Ms if you are looking for hotels
A great way to spend the day with family and friends.Old house, plenty of green grass and open air.Let the kids free to run and play.
We recently spent two nights at the Waverly Inn. We stayed in the cottages which overlook the lake and golf course and have 4 bedrooms and a common living area with coffee bar. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. Both nights we ate dinner in the main dining room, excellent and friendly service, nice ambiance and wonderful food. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, On arrival you stop at the gate house where you will be greeted in a friendly welcoming manner. The property has villas, condos and cottages, if staying in the cottages request a room overlooking the lake. We stayed in one of the cottages last year and were so pleased with our experience we returned this year. You won't be disappointed in this property.
When you drive through the gate it is like you are in a new world. World class golf, food and cottages!
We have visited for 5 years and the consistency of the service, food and accommodation is enticing. They offer many options should you want to stay overnight and golf. They have spacious cottage rooms as discussed, 2 bedrooms condos with different bedroom configurations which are mostly 2 bedroom 2.5 bath with full kitchens and villas which have 3 or more bedrooms. All are well appointed and comfortable. As it gets colder they have a fire pit to warm up next to as you begin your round of golf. The hospitality is amazing, only Turnberry in Scotland rivals it. If you choose to look for a quiet beautiful setting I don't think you will be disappointed.
While West Point isn't the metropolis that would justify high end hotels, we did expect for $300 per night we would be getting the best around. The villa overall wasn't bad it was just very very dated. Corroded brass and cultured marble with low end furniture did NOT impress. The wifi was good and the tv was large. Beautiful view of the course and pond from the patio. That's about all of the nice things I can say. The kitchen in the villa was dated dingy appliances. The decor was hodge podge. It was as if the owner took each piece from a different decor style from several house and stuck it under one roof. Not sure what other options exist for a 2 bedroom but for 300 a night I expected much much better.
